Do you want to work with us at Malmö Music School?

We are constantly looking for new employees, so you are always welcome to send in a spontaneous application.

We are looking for you who are passionate about teaching and following your students long-term and seeing them develop with your help.

To join our team at Malmö Musikskola, you should be a trained musician or music teacher and have teaching experience. You should ideally be able to communicate well in both Swedish and English, but if you have sufficient subject qualifications, we can waive this and also take you on as an English-speaking teacher.

We have students from 4 years to 70+ and at different levels of knowledge, so it is important that you can meet each student where they are in terms of maturity and knowledge. If you want to work at Malmö Musikskola, you are expected to work in a structured and independent way. You should also have good social skills and be good at communication. You will collaborate with our administrative team on scheduling and other issues.

What is it like to work with us?

The working hours are usually about 5 hours/day of effective teaching and it is located within the range of 14:00-21:00 on weekdays and on weekends about 10:00-20:00. You will probably start working 1-2 days/week, with the possibility of 3-4 days/week in the long run. We therefore prefer that you either study or have another part-time job alongside this job. At Malmö Music School, you work the same days of the week every week and we work about 40 weeks / year.

We currently teach bass, cello, violin, guitar, music theory, piano, saxophone, singing, drums and trumpet. You can apply if you teach one or more of these instruments - or others - as we are always interested in offering more subjects.

Applicants who are able to work on Saturdays or Sundays are prioritized as we have a particularly high need for teachers for Saturdays and Sundays, in order to meet our students' demand for lessons on weekends.
