Madalena Rodrigues Matos
Violin and piano teacher
Madalena Rodrigues is an accomplished violin and piano teacher with a solid background in classical music. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, she attended the entire Conservatory of Music in Álvaro Pinto's class in Lisbon, obtaining the highest grades and becoming an honorary student for five years. After the Conservatory, Madalena continued her training at the Lisbon Orchestra Academy with Agnes Sárosi and Anzhela Akopyan. She then attended the Malmö Academy of Music under Marika Fältskog (former concertmaster of the Malmö Symphony Orchestra), where she obtained her Master's degree.
Madalena has also participated in various masterclasses with distinguished teachers such as Peter Spissky, Matthew Trusler, Evgeny Bushkov, Gareguin Aroutiounian and Mário Laginha, all of whom have contributed to her technical and artistic development. Her experience spans various prominent orchestras such as the Malmö Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra Metropolitana of Lisbon, the Contemporary Music Atelié of Linda-A-Velha, and the Baroque Music Atelié of Linda-A-Velha. She is also a member of several chamber music constellations such as Öresunds Trio, Viriato Piano Quartet, Liber Ensemble, as well as house musician at Inter Arts Center in Malmö since 2017.
Alongside her active music career, Madalena has been teaching since 2012 in both Portugal and Sweden. She teaches in Portuguese, Spanish, English and Swedish and is appreciated for her ability to create an inspiring and supportive learning environment for her students.
Madalena's teaching methods are customized to meet each student's unique needs and goals, with a focus on developing technical skill and musical understanding. She strives to build a strong technical foundation while encouraging her students to develop a deep understanding of the structure and form of music. Her lessons are designed to foster both technical skill and musical maturity.
In addition to her regular lessons, Madalena is one of the dedicated teachers of our Introduction to Music program for children aged 4-6. The program aims to give the youngest students a positive and stimulating start to their musical journey. Madalena works to create a playful and educational environment where children can explore music through play and educational activities.

She believes in the importance of hard work and dedication, and works to create an environment where students can feel motivated and inspired to explore their musical talents.
